Effect of Compliance with Taking Antihypertensive Drug on Patient Quality of Life at Public Health Center Beji Batu

Hypertension is a disease characterized by an increase in blood pressure above normal. Hypertension can cause complications such as kidney failure resulting in morbidity and mortality. Compliance with taking antihypertensive drug is an important part of the success of the therapy for which there is expected to be an improvement in the patient's quality of life. This study aims to determine the effect of compliance with taking antihypertensive drug on patient quality of life at Public Health Center Beji Batu. It is quantitative observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The subjects were 34 outpatient hypertension patients who did not have comorbidities with the age of >17 and received antihypertensive drugs. The data were analyzed by the ordinal regression test using SPSS software version 26. The results show that the compliance with taking antihypertensive drugs level are 12 people comply (35.29%), 12 people less comply (35.29%) and 10 people discomply (29.41%). The results also show that the patient quality of life measurement are 0 people perfect (0%), 6 people very good (17.65%), 19 people good (55.88%), 9 people less good (26.47%), and 0 people death (0%). The results of the ordinal regression test show p value of 0.000<0.05 and R-square of 0.884. In conclusion, the compliance with taking antihypertensive drug affects the patient quality of life with p value of 0.000.
